Hochbahn AG is procuring an underfloor wheel lathe for its main workshop in Hamburg-Barmbek, Hellbrookstrasse 6. Workshop hall 4 is being completely rebuilt between 2026 and 2030, and the lathe is to be installed on track 61, roughly in the middle of the hall, by the end of 2029. In single-shift operation it must be able to apply all wheel profiles in use at Hochbahn. Vehicles will be moved in using a battery-powered transport vehicle, but crossing the lathe at low speed under the vehicle's own traction must still be possible.
