Description
Das Projekt betrifft den Linux Kernel, die zentrale Software für sämtliche Dienste, Plattformen oder Anwendungen Linux-basierter Systeme. Ziel des Projektes ist es insbesondere, im Rahmen mehrerer Arbeitspakte die aktuell bekannten Schwachstellen der Komponente systematisch zu analysieren, diese schrittweise zu beheben und gezielt zusätzliche Tests zu integrieren. Dadurch soll der Long-Term-Support (LTS) des Linux Kernels nachhaltig technisch verbessert sowie seine Sicherheit und Vertrauenswürdigkeit erhöht werden, um damit insgesamt eine stabile Grundlage für sämtliche auf ihm basierenden Systeme im öffentlichen Interesse zu schaffen.
