The Langen wastewater treatment plant is to be extended with a fourth treatment stage for the elimination of micropollutants. Based on a multi-year research project at the plant, a combination of cloth filtration and activated carbon filtration was selected. In preparation for changing treatment performance requirements, the design also allows for a later extension with ozonation. The hydraulic connection to the existing plant is made via an intermediate pumping station, which will pump the effluent of conventional wastewater treatment into the new stage and subsequently serve as a flood pumping station. The contract covers the supply, installation and commissioning of the electrical and control technology.
