The Institute of Electrified Aircraft Propulsion plans to procure a mobile test platform for its research into electric and hybrid-electric flight systems. The platform will test the interaction between an energy source, such as stationary DC supply or a fuel cell system, which is not part of this call for tenders, and a drive motor with propeller together with the required auxiliary units. All components of the so-called Iron Bird will be set up in a configuration matching later operation in the aircraft. The buyer is located in Germany.
