Die Gemeinde Nümbrecht hat das Ziel, in den strukturell unterversorgten Gebieten der Gemeinde langfristig ein nachhaltiges sowie leistungsfähiges Breitband- bzw. Gigabitnetz (NGA-Netz) zu schaffen. Zu diesem Zweck hat sie bereits in den Jahren 2016 und 2019 für einen Teil des Gemeindegebietes Förderanträge gestellt und jeweils einen Zuwendungsvertrag mit einem Netzbetreiber im Wirtschaftlichkeitslückenmodell abgeschlossen. Weitere Informationen sind der Leistungsbeschreibung zu entnehmen. Zur Umsetzung des Gigabitausbaus hat die Gemeinde am Förderprogramm gemäß Richtlinie "Förderung zur Unterstützung des Gigabitausbaus der Telekommunikationsnetze in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland" - Gigabit-Richtlinie des Bundes 2.0 (Gigabit-RL 2.0) nach 3.1. Wirtschaftlichkeitslückenmodell des Bundesministeriums für Digitales und Verkehr teilgenommen und am 14.11.2024 einen vorläufigen Zuwendungsbescheid des Bundes erhalten. Die Zulassung des vorzeitigen Maßnahmenbeginns durch das Land NRW, welche den vorläufigen Förderbescheid ersetzt, erfolgte am 06.12.2024.
