Die Stadt Heinsberg plant die Umnutzung der ehemaligen Grundschule im Ortsteil Unterbruch zu einem Mehrgenerationen-Bürgerzentrum mit verschiedenen sozialen, kulturellen und betreuenden Nutzungen. Die Stadt Heinsberg vergibt die Tragwerksplanung (HOAI-Leistungsphasen 1 bis 6) für die Umnutzung der ehemaligen Grundschule Unterbruch (Anton-Loevenich-Straße 6, 52525 Heinsberg) zu einem Mehrgenerationen-Bürgerzentrum. Vorgesehen sind unter anderem Vereinsräume, ein Schulungsraum, ein Jugendtreff sowie eine Kinderbetreuungseinrichtung im Erdgeschoss, deren konkrete Ausrichtung (voraussichtlich integrativer Kindergarten) derzeit noch mit einem neuen Nutzer abgestimmt werden muss. Das Projekt wird im Rahmen des Förderprogramms REVIER.GESTALTEN - energetische Sanierung kommunaler Gebäude gefördert (Förderzusage liegt vor). Die Fertigstellung des Gebäudes muss aufgrund des befristeten Förderzeitraums zu einem festen Termin 31.12.2029 erfolgen. Die Beauftragung erfolgt stufenweise.
