The contracting authority intends to conclude a framework agreement for explosive ordnance clearance services in the state of Brandenburg. The services cover the clearance of explosive ordnance and are divided into 10 lots. The aim is to remove specific dangers to public safety caused by finds of ordnance, working with several reliable, qualified and capable commercial contractors. The agreement also secures the systematic survey of land and properties contaminated with explosive ordnance. Brandenburg has around 385,000 hectares of its total 2.947 million hectares still classified as contaminated, with particular risks in the city of Oranienburg due to a very high concentration of American long-delay fuzed bombs, which can detonate without external influences.
