Germany - Treatment or remediation of groundwater contamination - Hydraulic groundwater remediation

A contracting authority in Germany is procuring the provision, operation and maintenance of a groundwater remediation plant (GWRA) to clean groundwater contaminated with chlorinated hydrocarbons (LCKW). The groundwater has a higher organic load plus accompanying pollutants from a landfill. Required throughput is at least 8 m3/h. The plant must include aeration, iron removal, a stripping unit with recirculated gas, a catalytic oxidation unit (KatOx), HCl dosing and 5 extraction pumps. It must be provided and operated until 2035, then dismantled. Existing infrastructure (wells, pipes, power connection, infiltration wells) is in place since 2020. The contract is re-tendered for competition reasons.
