RheinEnergie AG, acting as purchasing service provider for RheinNetz GmbH, is procuring construction works for a new cross-sector network control centre (QVLneo) in northern Cologne, including a data centre in the basement, serving electricity, gas, water and district heating networks with a gross floor area of about 11,540 m2. The works cover site access and setup areas, excavation of about 35,000 m3 from a pit of roughly 57 x 90 x 7 m with accompanying ordnance clearance, excavation support with and without anchoring, drainage pipes, electrical conduits, waterproof and reinforced concrete works, masonry walls, and a steel roof structure with gratings and cladding.
