DB Projekt Stuttgart-Ulm GmbH (Bukr 5S) awarded a works contract on 2022-10-07 for the Wendlingen Tunnel, part of the new rail line Wendlingen-Ulm, PFA 2.1 a/b on the Great Wendlingen Curve. The works include a mined tunnel of one tube about 662.5 m built by the shotcrete method with top heading and bench/invert excavation, a tunnel section in open cut construction (one tube about 20 m, covering walls, roof and covering fill), an embankment about 140 m long with about 12,000 m3 volume, and a cutting about 120 m long with a maximum depth of 10 m. Further measures include disposal or reuse of excavated material, drainage and cable civil engineering works, and foundations for catenary masts.
