These include maximising the recovery and recycling of street sweepings and gully waste through the use of a newly installed soil washing plant, with materials such as sand, grit, stone and silt being recovered for reuse, supporting circular economy objectives and providing a zero-landfill solution for this waste stream. In support of fair work principles and the local economy, A&M Smith has confirmed that it pays employees above the Scottish Real Living Wage and maintains a stable workforce with a strong record of long-term employment.
