Description

The Cairngorm National Park Authority (CNPA) Peatland ACTION team are commissioning pre-application surveys and protected species surveys for planned peatland restoration projects within its operational area. Pre-application surveys are used to quantify the peat resource where the restoration is to take place, determine eligibility for grant funding, and inform design of the restoration works. The surveys will also provide baseline data for future monitoring of restoration outcomes and habitat condition. The data derived from the surveys and subsequent design work may be used by the landowner or their representatives for the purposes of Peatland Code registration. Protected species surveys are required to provide data to inform restoration design and identify potential ecological constraints.
