Het DISTRIBUTIECONTRACT FM-operaties omvat: de bouw, exploitatie, bewaking en het onderhoud van 5 landelijke FM netwerken en aanhorigheden. Onder het opereren van deze FM-netwerken worden volgende aspecten begrepen: o FM-zendinstallaties, met redundantiemechanismes; o Stereo- en RDS-multiplexing; o RDS dataroutering en distributie; o Transmissienetwerk voor het verbinden van zendlocaties met de locaties waar het VRT de audio- en datasignalen aanbiedt; o Pylonen en antenne-installaties met bijhorende filters/combiners voor 6 secundaire opstelpunten (Antwerpen, Brussel, Brussegem, Diest, Gent en Sint-Niklaas); o Facilitaire omkadering noodzakelijk operaties (huisvesting van de installaties, stroomvoorzieningen, HVAC, toegangscontrole, net-werkinfrastructuur, ...); o Bewaking, onderhoud en incidentafhandeling. VRT beschikt over 32 FM frequenties in Vlaanderen en Brussel, verspreid over 11 opstelpunten. Radio 2 : Egem, Genk, Schoten, Sint-Pieters-Leeuw en Leuven; Aangevuld met FM-zenders met Aalst/Dendermonde, Diest en Sint-Niklaas als dienstenzone; 3. Klara: Egem, Genk, Schoten en Sint-Pieters-Leeuw; Aangevuld met een FM-zender met Antwerpen als dienstenzone; 4. Studio Brussel: Egem, Genk, Schoten, Sint-Pieters-Leeuw en Leuven; Aangevuld met een FM-zender met Gent als dienstenzone; 5. MNM: Egem, Genk, Schoten, Sint-Pieters-Leeuw en Leuven; Aangevuld met een FM-zender met Brussel als dienstenzone; Het netwerk van Radio 2 zendt een aantal uur per dag gedifferentieerde programmatie uit. Tijdens deze -ontkoppeling- worden de frequenties van het Radio 2 netwerk via RDS gehergroepeerd per provincie. Daar waar VRT de dynamische data aanlevert zal de netwerkoperator instaan voor statische RDS data en voor het correct distribueren deze data
