What this radar can and cannot see
We can date 200,160 of 1,165,192 awarded contracts (17.2%). The rest do not state a duration we can read, so they are left out rather than guessed at. For 70,487 of them the source itself states the end: they are marked as confirmed. For 128,100 of them the source states the duration, and the end is counted from the award date. For 1,573 of them the duration is read from the notice text.
An end has one of three levels. Confirmed: the source states it in a structured field, as the end date itself or as a start date and a duration. Estimated from the stated duration: the source states the duration in a structured field and not the start, so the end is counted from the award date. Estimated: the duration is read from the notice text with narrow patterns in ten languages, and counted from the award date. Anything ambiguous is dropped. The register has stored the period sources state since October 2026, so an older notice keeps its estimate until its source is read again.
A solid line is an end the source states. A line that ends in dashes is an end estimated from the duration the source states. A dashed line is an end estimated from the notice text. The dark part is the time already run and the mark is today.
By default the list keeps the contracts that are likely to be tendered again: services and supplies contracted for a year or more. Works are built once, and a contract of a few months is a single job, whatever is bought, so both are left out until you include them. A contract counts as works when its CPV code is in division 45, when the source states works as its type, or when its title is a lot of a building trade.
"Expect the notice from" is our default, not a published date: six months before the end, nine when the contract is worth more than the EU threshold. A buyer may publish earlier, later, or extend the contract instead.
A consecutive award means the same company won the previous rounds this buyer awarded under the same CPV code; the lots of one procedure count as one round. "First contract" is said only when the buyer has earlier awards in the register and none of them went to this company.
