Målsättningen med uppdraget är att attrahera nationellt och internationellt privat kapital till innovativa svenska små och medelstora företag med energiinnovationer. Uppdraget ska bidra till att underlätta för företag i målgruppen att genomföra privat kapitalanskaffning på ca 5-10 MSEK. Uppdraget som ska utföras genom denna upphandling är en del av Energimyndighetens program Hållbar affärsutveckling. Programmet avser att främja kommersialisering av svenska företags innovativa lösningar inom energiområdet och accelerera samhällets omställning till ett hållbart energisystem. Programmet är en central del i uppfyllandet av myndighetens uppgift att främja kommersialisering av forskningsresultat och spridning av nya produkter.
