Sweden - Construction work - Turnkey contract for stormwater pipe jacking at Renmarkstorget

Vakin is procuring a turnkey construction contract to increase stormwater drainage capacity in central Umeå, Sweden. The project continues a previous expansion along Nygatan-Götgatan to create a future-proof stormwater outlet all the way to the river. The planned stormwater pipe is estimated to need a diameter of 1800 mm over approximately 360 metres, including access shafts. Works will mainly use the concrete pipe jacking method, with open trenching needed to connect the pipe on Götgatan and for the final section through the quay to the river outlet.
