Účelom obstarania stavebných prác R2 Bátka - Figa je odľahčenie v súčasnosti zaťaženej dopravnej siete, najmä cesty i/16, po ktorej je vedená tranzitná doprava s negatívnym dopadom pre obyvateľov pozdĺž tejto silne zaťaženej cesty vedenej prieťahom obcí. Vybudovaním rýchlostnej cesty R2 sa zvýši plynulosť, rýchlosť a bezpečnosť dopravy a dôjde k výraznému zlepšeniu dopravno - prevádzkových podmienok pre tranzitnú dopravu. Celkový prehľad stavby: - celková dĺžka úseku hlavnej trasy: 6 318,585 m - šírkové usporiadanie (kategória cesty): R 11,5/100 - počet objektov: 90 - počet mostov spolu: 6 ks na R2 Popis stavby: Rýchlostná cesta R2 je súčasťou medzinárodného európskeho ťahu E58 v smere západ - východ. Rýchlostná cesta R2 bude prepájať predchádzajúci pripravovaný úsek R2 Zacharovce - Bátka so zrealizovaným úsekom R2 Figa - obchvat. Začiatok úseku R2 Bátka - Figa nadväzuje na predchádzajúci úsek R2 Zacharovce - Bátka, za mimoúrovňovou križovatkou „Bátka“, riešenou v predchádzajúcom úseku. Trasa tu prekračuje cestu III/2753 a pokračuje k existujúcej križovatke cesty I/16 s cestou III/2759, ktorú premosťuje vrátane potoka Blh. V ďalšom úseku vedie trasa pozdĺž cesty I/16 z južnej strany, v k. ú. Kaloša sa od koridoru cesty I/16 oddiali a križuje cestu III/2760 a potok Teška. Ďalej opäť križuje cestu I/16 a končí napojením sa na stavbu R2 Figa - obchvat. Podrobné vymedzenie predmetu zákazky je vo Zväzku 1 až Zväzku 5 súťažných podkladov.
