Description

Das Laboratorium für Anorganische Chemie der ETH Zürich plant die Beschaffung eines integrierten UHV-Clusters für gepulste Laserdeposition (PLD) und Sputterdeposition von Heterostrukturen aus Oxid- und Metallschichten. Das System soll die Materialsynthese auf Oxidsubstraten mit einer Fläche von bis zu 10 x 10 mm2 ermöglichen. Es soll aus einer PLD-Kammer, einer Sputterkammer, einer zentralen UHV-Transferkammer und einer Schleusenkammer für den Austausch von Proben und PLD-Targets bestehen, ohne die Prozesskammern zu belüften. Alle Kammern müssen Basisdrücke unter 1 x 10-7 mbar aufweisen. Die PLD-Kammer muss mit einem KrF-Excimerlaser und in-situ Hochdruck-RHEED ausgestattet sein und für routinemässiges epitaktisches Oxidwachstum bei hohen Temperaturen um 1100 °C geeignet sein. Die Sputterkammer muss DC- und RF-Magnetronsputtern von Metall- und Oxidschichten ermöglichen, einschliesslich reaktivem Sputtern in Ar/O₂-Atmosphären, mit Substratheizung bis mindestens 700 °C unter Verwendung eines Probenträgersystems, das mit der PLD-Kammer kompatibel ist. Das System muss den Probentransfer zu einem externen UHV-Transferkoffer ermöglichen und UHV-kompatible Ports für die zukünftige Erweiterung des Clusters vorsehen.
