Die Pädagogische Hochschule Zürich (PHZH) betreibt auf der Halbinsel Au das Tagungszentrum Schloss Au. Das bisher als Ergänzung zum Schloss für verschiedenste Zwecke genutzte Kutscherhaus genügt aufgrund seines schlechten baulichen Zustandes immer weniger heutigen Anforderungen. Unter Berücksichtigung der Prinzipien der Nachhaltigkeit und Suffizienz, sowie der Schonung von Ressourcen hat die PHZH beschlossen, das Gebäude zu erhalten und umfassend zu sanieren. Als ein Kooperationsprojekt zwischen der PHZH (Leading House), der Stiftung Pestalozzianum, des WWF Zürich und der ZHAW, soll das Kutscherhaus als Nachhaltigkeitszentrum genutzt werden.
