Op dit moment neemt KVK deel aan de Rijksbrede raamovereenkomst voor mediadiensten. De Dienst Publiek en Communicatie (DPC) is echter gestart met de voorbereidingen voor een nieuwe Europese aanbesteding, waarbij de scope wordt beperkt tot de rechtspersoon Staat der Nederlanden. Motivatie voor deze beperking: de inkoopvoordelen nemen af door de verschuiving naar online media, waar steeds vaker via veilingen wordt ingekocht. Dit betekent dat KVK zelfstandig een Europese aanbestedingsprocedure voor mediadiensten opstart. De dienstverlening en waarde van KVK wordt nog onvoldoende ervaren door Ondernemend Nederland.
