De Commando Speciale Operaties (CdoSpecOps) van het KCT met als neventaak Demolitie specialist (DemSpec) heeft binnen een Special Operations Forces (SOF) team drie kerntaken. Dit zijn: a. het forceren van doorgangen in objecten (breaching); b. IED- en mijndreigingen neutraliseren (SOF search); en c. het vernielen/ vernietigen van High Value Targets (SOF vernielingen). Hiervoor volgt de CdoSpecOps de opleiding tot DemSpec waarna hij bevoegd en bekwaam is om deze kerntaken uit te voeren. Het is van belang dat de kerntaken tijdens de DemSpec opleiding niet in losse blokken (gefragmenteerd) maar als geheel en in de context worden geleerd. Tijdens missies worden deze kerntaken namelijk over het algemeen niet los van elkaar uitgevoerd maar zijn meestal complementair aan elkaar. De gevraagde dienstverlening betreft: 1. Beschikbaar stellen trainingsfaciliteit en logistieke ondersteuning. 2. Inhuur van instructeurs / subject matter experts 3. Het leveren van (explosieve) vernielingsmiddelen en ladingdragers
