Netherlands - Subsea equipment - Fish Finder

NIOZ (Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research) ran a European open procurement procedure for the supply, configuration and delivery of a subsea acoustic fish detection system for the rifHerstel XL project. The system enables autonomous, long-term monitoring of fish presence, species composition and biomass near artificial reef structures in Dutch coastal waters. It must support at least six months of uninterrupted deployment at an operational depth of approximately 40 metres and include at least one split-beam wideband transducer. The contract covers one system, including subsea frame, transducers and data acquisition unit. The contract has been awarded by Stichting Nederlandse Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek Instituten (NWO-I). The estimated value was EUR 800,000 excluding VAT.
