De gemeente is voornemens een Europese aanbesteding te starten voor de uitvoering van een grootschalige bodemsanering binnen het projectgebied Hofwijk Noord. De saneringsdoelstelling van de gemeente Zaanstad is, voor het Kan Palen en Touwen terrein: Het wegnemen van risico’s (verspreiding, ecologisch en humaan) betreffende de mobiele en vluchtige verontreiniging veroorzaakt door het bedrijf Kan Palen en het aanbrengen van een leeflaag en het zoveel als mogelijk beperken van nazorg en gebruiksbeperkingen. Dit resulteert o.a. in het verwijderen van de registraties in het kadaster van de mobiele en vluchtige verontreiniging veroorzaakt door het bedrijf Kan Palen. De opdracht omvat naar verwachting onder meer: • Ontgraven en afvoeren van verontreinigde grond (mobiele verontreiniging); • Uitvoeren van grondwaterzuivering; • Afvoer en verwerking (incl. ketenregistratie); • Terugbrengen van schone leeflaag; • Milieukundige begeleiding en rapportage Het geschatte volume bedraagt: • circa 20.000 m2 schonen terrein • circa 450 m1 tijdelijke damwand • circa 25.000 m³ verontreinigde grond • circa 45.000 m3 leveren en aanbrengen schone grond.
