Het project heeft de volgende doelstellingen: • Vervanging van de installaties en ruimtelijke herindeling van de drie tractiestations (scheiding hoog- en laagspanningsruimtes). • Verduurzaming van de tractie-energievoorziening op de SUNIJ-lijn, rekening houdend met groei van reizigersaantallen. • Een robuustere en bedrijfszekerdere energievoorziening met een technische levensduur van minimaal 40 jaar. • Standaardisatie van installaties ter verhoging van de efficiency van beheer en onderhoud.
