La Ville de Castres est propriétaire, au lieu dit « La Borde Basse », sis 440 rue Marcel Burgun, 81100 Castres, d'un centre équestre municipal actuellement géré par la Régie du centre équestre de Castres La Borde-Basse. Pour des raisons d'ordre juridique, économique et fiscal, la municipalité a souhaité modifier le mode de gestion du centre équestre. Par délibération du 30 juin 2026, le Conseil Municipal de Castres a décidé de déléguer le service public du centre équestre par voie d'affermage
