L’Ajuntament de Bellpuig té la necessitat d’ampliar el complex del poliesportiu, mitjançant la construcció d’un nou edifici annexat a l’existent, per ampliar en la planta primera la sala destinada a gimnàs, i en planta baixa dotar d’un espai a doble alçada, per a la pràctica de l’escalada amb la instal·lació d’un rocòdrom, i un magatzem per millorar la capacitat d’emmagatzematge del conjunt del complex. L’Ajuntament de Bellpuig es veu en la necessitat d’executar la totalitat de l’obra en dues fases atès la impossibilitat de fer-ho en una, motivada per assignacions pressupostaries en anualitats diferents. Aquesta divisió es realitza de manera que el conjunt dels treballs corresponents a la primera fase, ofereixen una entitat al conjunt de les obres de forma funcional i raonablement autònoma. La primera fase ja executada consistí en l’execució de tota la fonamentació, estructura, tancaments exteriors i evacuació de les aigües de l’edifici. La segona fase contemplarà tots els treballs d’acabats, revestiments, paviments i les instal·lacions d’enllumenat, incendis i climatització de l’edifici. Aquesta execució de les obres serà independent i no interferiran ni afectaran de cap manera a les obres ja executades.
