El contrato tiene por objeto la concesión de servicio de explotación de las cafeterías, incluida la redacción del proyecto yejecución de las obras de reforma, del Complejo Hospitalario Universitario de Canarias (CHUC).Las Cafeterías del Hospital Universitario de Canarias (HUC) constituyen un espacio estratégico dentro del complejo hospitalario,prestando servicio a pacientes, familiares, visitantes y, de forma muy significativa, al conjunto del personal sanitario y nosanitario. Su funcionamiento afecta directamente a la experiencia del usuario, a la percepción del hospital como entornohumanizado y, al mismo tiempo, al soporte operativo de cientos de profesionales que necesitan una oferta rápida, saludable yaccesible.Como hospital de tercer nivel, el HUC está sometido a una elevada presión asistencial, con flujos muy intensos en determinadoshorarios, y a la exigencia de ofrecer servicios complementarios modernos, eficientes y acordes a su rol de referencia en elServicio Canario de la Salud.Asimismo, la Cafetería Principal del Hospital Universitario de Canarias presenta un conjunto de deficiencias funcionales,arquitectónicas y técnicas que justifican la necesidad de una remodelación integral. El análisis realizado evidencia que lainstalación no responde a los estándares actuales de los hospitales de tercer nivel ni a las expectativas de los usuarios delCHUC.La remodelación tiene como finalidad transformar un espacio obsoleto y funcionalmente insuficiente en un entorno moderno,eficiente, seguro y alineado con los estándares de calidad exigibles en un hospital de tercer nivel. El presente capítulo definelos objetivos operativos, técnicos, asistenciales y estratégicos que deben guiar el futuro Proyecto Básico y el Proyecto deEjecución, cuyo desarrollo corresponderá al adjudicatario del contrato, tomando el anteproyecto de obra como referencia.
