El objetivo general del Plan Tenerife Reset es diferenciar y consolidar Tenerife como destino turístico comprometido con los objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible mediante intensificación de programas y acciones que promuevan y desarrollen la sostenibilidad e innovación turística de la isla. En este contexto, como producto turístico a desarrollar y potenciar se crea una Red Insular de Infraestructuras y equipamientos para la observación de aves ejecutando así el Programa de actuaciones para la Mejora de infraestructuras del producto Bird Watching, que recoge los criterios básicos de diseño para la creación de una red de lugares para la práctica de la observación de aves. Se propone la división en lotes de las actuaciones en base a criterios de ámbito comarcal, debido a los condicionantes que se imponen en cada zona por sus valores paisajísticos y medioambientales, así como en los Espacios Naturales Protegidos afectados.
