Aigües i Sanejament d’Elx, S.A. gestiona el Ciclo Integral del Agua en el T.M. de Elche, incluyendo entre las instalaciones vinculadas al ciclo integral del agua tres EDARs. En concreto, la EDAR de Arenales Del Sol tiene un tratamiento biológico con aireación prolongada mediante un sistema integrado biorreactor-membranas de microfiltración. Las líneas de membranas A3, B1 y B2, que operan desde la puesta en marcha de la EDAR en 2010, han superado la vida útil, según las especificaciones del fabricante. Por todo lo anterior se requiere su sustitución.
