Según traslada el director del Servei d’Informàtica de la Universitat de València, los cambios tecnológicos en el ámbito de las redes de comunicaciones hacen que por motivos de seguridad, funcionalidad, capacidad o prestaciones sea necesario sustituir los actuales equipos de red de campus por otros más adecuados, y poder paliar las deficiencias sustituyéndolos por modelos más recientes, con prestaciones y capacidad suficiente para atender correctamente las necesidades actuales, consiguiendo mejor seguridad, velocidad y la estabilidad general de las redes física e inalámbrica.
