L’actuació preveu la implantació d’una marquesina autoportant sobre l’aparcament existent, amb una superfície aproximada de 144,00 m², destinada a proporcionar ombra a les places d’aparcament i, al mateix temps, servir de suport a una instal·lació fotovoltaica per a autoconsum municipal. El projecte té per finalitat definir tècnicament i econòmicament l’actuació, justificar-ne la viabilitat constructiva i funcional, obtenir les autoritzacions o llicències que siguin necessàries i presentar-se als diferents organismes per a l’obtenció de subvencions i finançament de l’obra. Aquesta actuació s’emmarca dins el Pla ImpulsDipta - Pla de cooperació mitjançant concertació amb municipis i entitats municipals descentralitzades de la Diputació de Tarragona, concretament dins les actuacions de transició ecològica, atès que incorpora una instal·lació d’energia solar fotovoltaica destinada a fomentar l’ús d’energies renovables, reduir el consum energètic procedent de fonts convencionals i contribuir a la mitigació del canvi climàtic. El Pla ImpulsDipta inclou dins el programa de transició ecològica les actuacions d’adquisició i instal·lació d’energies renovables, inclosa l’energia solar fotovoltaica.
