Le présent marché concerne la construction d'un pilote de capture du CO2 sur le site de la chaufferie centrale du Campus du Sart-Tilman (B10). En pratique, ce pilote doit permettre la capture d'1 tonne de CO2 par jour, soit une échelle assez représentative de la réalité industrielle. Il met en œuvre une technologie d'absorption chimique. En raison de la crise climatique, la capture de CO2 en sortie de cheminées industrielles devient un enjeu fondamental de toute politique environnementale. Pour réduire les risques de cette nouvelle technologie, la construction d'unités pilotes est une étape indispensable. Ce projet poursuit donc des objectifs tant scientifiques, qu'éducatifs ou encore technologiques. Enfin, cette unité de capture se veut mobile. Après fonctionnement sur le site de la chaufferie du Sart Tilman, nous prévoyons de la déplacer sur d’autres sites industriels pour étudier son adéquation avec des fumées de composition et de caractéristiques différentes. Ce marché englobe à la fois l'approvisionnement en éléments métalliques et les travaux liés à la construction et à l'assemblage des installations métalliques du pilote.
