Als grootste universitaire ziekenhuis van België wil UZ Leuven grenzen verleggen door gespecialiseerde zorg en innovatieve behandelingen te combineren met menselijke aandacht en respect voor elke patiënt. Bijna 10.000 gepassioneerde medewerkers geven elke dag de beste zorg op maat. Toekomstige zorgverleners en medewerkers krijgen in UZ Leuven een hoogstaande opleiding met het oog op levenslang leren en innoveren. Als pionier in klinisch onderzoek denkt het ziekenhuis ook aan de patiëntenzorg van morgen. Enkele kerncijfers van UZ Leuven in 2023: 9.981 medewerkers zorgden samen voor een vlot verloop van ruim 776.000 raadplegingen, zo’n 187.000 (dag)opnames en meer dan 57.900 chirurgische ingrepen. Door een toenemende behoefte aan specifieke noden, integratie en automatisering is dit systeem in de loop der jaren vrijwel volledig aangepast en afgestemd op UZ Leuven. De kern van PeopleSoft omvat de modules HR, Finance en Aankoop. Daarnaast zijn er uitgebreide eigen ontwikkelingen toegevoegd, waaronder oplossingen voor manufacturing, facility management, de apotheek, het CTC (Clinical Trial Center), het ethisch comité (EC) en meer. UZ Leuven wil de kernfunctionaliteiten van PeopleSoft (HR, Finance en Aankoop) onderbrengen in één nieuw, geïntegreerd ERP-systeem, met de mogelijkheid om ook de andere op maat gemaakte toepassingen aan te sluiten op dit systeem. De implementatie van het nieuwe ERP-systeem zal het voorwerp uitmaken van een andere overheidsopdracht en valt dus buiten de scope van huidige overheidsopdracht. Het in de markt plaatsen van deze opdracht zal pas van start gaan na de toewijzing van de huidige overheidsopdracht.
