ARA Zirl mechanical equipment for sludge dewatering

The works concern the mechanical equipment of the sludge dewatering stage at the Zirl wastewater treatment plant. The scope includes construction of a container system on the roof of the sludge dewatering building, with space reservation and connections for a filtrate screening unit at the filtrate outlet. A new sludge discharge system distributing to 4 containers will be installed, and the polymer preparation station for powder and liquid PE will be renewed. Piping works cover sludge feed from the existing system to the new machine, polymer dosing to the forced mixer upstream of the decanter, and the decanter filtrate outlet connection to the existing filtrate line. Further works include a rinse water outlet branch into the existing dirty water line, 2 motor-driven automatic gate valves for automatic switchover during decanter start-up and shutdown, renewal of the sludge feed pumps in the basement, and renewal of the macerator.
