Castell de l’Areny és un municipi de la comarca del Berguedà, amb una superfície municipal de 24,4 km2 i una població d’uns 69 habitants. El camí de la Clusa és un camí en terres que comunica Castell de l’Areny amb d’altres municipis veïns com Vilada i La Nou de Berguedà i també amb el nucli de Sant Romà de la Clusa i les masies de la Serra del Catllaràs, pertanyents al municipi de la Pobla de Lillet. Es tracta d’un camí de muntanya molt freqüentat tant per veïns com per les activitats agrícoles i forestals de la zona. Alhora té un gran atractiu turístic degut a la bellesa natural de l’entorn i dels espais que comunica. Degut a l’orografia per on transcorre aquest camí, presenta perills diversos i severs, accentuats en períodes hivernals, ja que es troba entre els 900 m i els 1.150 m de cota. Transcorre molts trams amb forts precipicis al costat, amb forts pendents, corbes pronunciades, zones ombrívoles amb presència de gel i neu.
