Study "Reducing barriers to trade, investment and job creation in developing countries"

BACKGROUND: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark seeks to undertake a study of “ Reducing barriers to trade, investment and job creation in developing countries” OBJECTIVE: The specific objective to be assess the relevance of the MFA aid instruments and the coherence and synergy between the aid instruments, political dialogue, Trade Council support and trade instruments in addressing barriers for international companies including Danish companies’ trade and investment in developing countries. SCOPE OF WORK & OUTPUTS: The study will be based on a desk review of documents, interviews (online or in person) and two field trips (of 5 days each) to two selected countries (tentatively Kenya and Bangladesh). The following outputs are expected: 1) Inception report 2) Draft findings report 3) Participation in one or more seminars to present findings and recommendations 4) Draft and Final report TIMEFRAME (tentative dates): The assignment is expected to start 16 November 2026, and conclude by June 2027. The mission of 5 days to Kenya and Bangladesh (tentatively) respectively is expected to take place in March/April 2027. CONSULTANTS: An experienced team of 2 consultants are expected which combine experience with Danish strategies/aid instruments and concrete operational experience with how to operate as a business in challenged business environments. One of the consultants should act as the team leader. The team leader should have extensive experience with conducting complex thematic studies related to framework conditions for investment, trade and job creation. BUDGET: The budget maximum is DKK 1.000,000.00 net of VAT.
