Design and implementation of Staff Engagement Surveys and Pulse Surveys

ECHA has been conducting staff engagement surveys for several years already and wishes to continue this practice. It is a valuable insight that the organisation can take from the information provided by its staff members. The staff surveys provide information about the staff members experience in the organisation which then influences many aspects of their work such as commitment to the organisation, motivation, trust in management. The staff surveys help ECHA to identify the opinions, feedback and attitudes of staff members towards the organisation. The staff surveys highlight the challenges and successes across the organisation and give benchmark against previous results and also give benchmark against other similar organisations. With the comparison to the previous surveys, they also provide information about the longer-term trends within the organisation and therefore show if the development actions over the years have brought benefits. With a rapidly evolving environment, ECHA would also like to run pulse surveys which would complement the comprehensive biennial employee engagement surveys. The surveys should give ECHA additional insights and benchmark against other similar organisations as well as a possibility for ECHA to enhance its employer brand to become an employer of choice. Becoming employer of choice is one of the targets in ECHA’s People and Organisational Strategy 2024-2028.
