Description

To carry out a thinning of 1 in 3 trees from the 46ha within the work site and clear-fell 7 in 10 stems from 3ha worth of coops. Trees selected to be removed are to be those which are less well developed, poorly formed, narrow trees; leaving larger trees with deeper crowns. The thinning should be done in a variable manner to help create a natural forest impression. Due to the nature of the site, work should commence on the 1st September 2026 (or as near to as possible). Felling of trees should be completed by the 31st December and all timber removed from the work site as soon as possible after that date and no later than the 14th February 2027. An onsite meeting will be held following a successful appointment of the contract and intermediate onsite meetings scheduled with RSPB staff present.
