Description
Technological University Dublin intends to award a contract for the rapid deployment of a comprehensive student attendance capture and engagement solution. This notice is issued voluntarily to ensure maximum transparency prior to contract award. Following a detailed assessment of available market offerings the University has concluded that only one supplier is capable of meeting the Universitys full technical, operational, and deployment requirements.
Required Solution Capabilities The Universitys requirement includes the following essential features Multi environment attendance capture A unified platform that supports accurate attendance recording for On campus class attendance Off campus, remote, or blended learning scenarios This must be achieved through flexible authentication and verification methods to ensure robust validation across varied teaching modes. b. No reliance on fixed or additional hardware The University requires a technology first solution that: Operates independently of fixed readers, card swipe systems, beacons, or room installed hardware Minimises or avoids the installation of new physical infrastructure Scales uniformly across all University sites and class types. c. Rapid, institution wide deployment The University has an urgent requirement to implement the solution at speed. Therefore, the platform must Be fully cloud based Integrate with existing identity, timetabling, and student information systems Provide immediate readiness for institution wide rollout without prolonged installation or configuration cycles. d. Proven, secure, and scalable technology The required system must Be widely deployed in comparable higher education settings Demonstrate robust data protection, security, and compliance controls Offer stability and reliability at scale Operate on a platform with a strong track record of delivering digital student services. e. Integrated student engagement capabilities The University requires the attendance system to be part of a broader mobile based engagement solution that: Provides students with an intuitive, consolidated mobile app Supports personalised notifications, timetables, digital services, and university communications Strengthens student interaction, belonging, and retention through a single digital touchpoint. These integrated mobile engagement capabilities were a critical part of the Universitys functional requirements and are not offered within competing attendance only technologies.
