Description

The proposed architectural heritage surveys covered by this Contract aim to address the recommendations contained within the Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs) for DART+ West and South-West prepared in 2022 and 2023 respectively as part of the Railway Orders for both projects. The EIARs for both routes identified a number of significant assets (including bridges, retaining walls, signal boxes and level crossings) that require survey and recording by an architectural heritage specialist/heritage architect to inform the future design of interventions as part of the DART+ project works. The purpose of undertaking these advance works is to ultimately de-risk the project’s construction programme. An important part of this work includes 2no signal boxes that require detailed survey to support the DART+ project’s consultation with Dublin City Council (DCC), as they are intended to be removed and re-built elsewhere. The scope is to undertake a series of architectural heritage surveys at the following assets: • OBD228 Sheriff Street Bridge • Church Road Signal Box at Docklands • Connolly Station Vaults • OBO36 Ossory Road Bridge • UBO32 North Strand Road Underbridge • UBO25 Ballybough Road Underbridge • UBO24 Clonliffe Avenue Underbridge • UBO23 St James’s Avenue Underbridge • UBO22 St Joseph’s Avenue Underbridge • UBO20 Jones’s Road Underbridge • UBO18 Mabel Street Underbridge • OBG5 Broome Bridge • UBO17 St George’s Avenue Underbridge • Ashtown Level Crossing • Disused mill building at Mill Lane, Ashtown • Ashton House gateway and demesne wall • OBG11 Castleknock Bridge • Coolmine Level Crossing • Porterstown Level Crossing • Clonsilla Pedestrian Bridge • Clonsilla Level Crossing • Barberstown Level Crossing • OBG14 Cope Bridge • Blakestown Level Crossing • OBC7 Le Fanu Road Bridge • Signal Box at Inchicore Works • Lean-to maintenance shed extension and shunting hut at Inchicore Works • Retaining walls at Inchicore Works • Retaining walls east of Inchicore Works • UBC4 Sarsfield Road Underbridge
