Description
The contract concerns the project "PMD", which covers the architectural modernisation, capability extension, and governance formalisation of PMD, a widely deployed open source static code analyser supporting Java, Apex, and more than a dozen additional programming languages. As part of several packages, the contract covers especially the formal modularisation of PMD's internal architecture, a Java baseline upgrade, codebase cleanups and API consolidation, cross-file metrics reporting, scripted custom rule authoring, ongoing maintenance and language support, release process automation, governance formalisation, and documentation restructuring. The aim of this service is to advance PMD toward the architectural coherence, operational reliability, and community sustainability required of open digital infrastructure on which a significant portion of software production in critical sectors depends.
