Description

Das Projekt betrifft die Open-Source-Bibliotheken „Bouncy Castle“ und „PGPainless“, die kryptographische Funktionen für „OpenPGP“ bereitstellen. „OpenPGP“ ist ein offener Standard zur Verschlüsselung und digitalen Signatur von Daten und Nachrichten. Im Rahmen mehrerer Meilensteine sollen auf Grundlage systematischer Analysen bestehender Funktionen, Softwarearchitekturen und Spezifikationen neue Möglichkeiten und Konzepte für die Integration von Smartcards und Hardware-Sicherheitstokens erforscht werden. Ziel ist die Entwicklung einer Schnittstelle, die die sichere Nutzung hardwaregestützter kryptographischer Schlüssel in den beiden Bibliotheken ermöglicht und damit nachhaltig zur Stärkung der Sicherheit und Vertrauenswürdigkeit offener digitaler Infrastrukturen im öffentlichen Interesse leistet.
