Impacto del cambio climático en la calidad del aire interior en los lugares de trabajo

The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA) and the European Environment Agency (EEA) are planning to launch a call for tender to quantify the scale and character of the impacts of climate change on Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) in four different workplace scenarios. The effects of climate change on outdoor air are well documented. Poor air quality has been associated with wildfires or pollution episodes, contributing to respiratory diseases such as asthma, chronic bronchitis and emphysema. However, the impacts of climate change on indoor air have been less studied. Indoor air is affected by environmental, building and human factors and these are being altered by climate change and climate change adaptation. The specific objectives are: 1. To explain what factors affecting the quality of indoor air are being impacted by climate change, based on a non-systematic review of the existing scientific evidence 2. For those factors being affected by climate change, describe how the impact can be quantified by providing models, methods, indicators and explaining what parameters should be measured to estimate the impact 3. Estimate the impact of climate change on IAQ using relevant climate change scenarios (that will be further specified in the tender specifications), in combination with a set of representative workplace settings (hospital, school, non climate change-adapted workspace and a climate change- adapted workspace, both without intentionally indoor sources), and discuss the drivers affecting the results 4. Describe what are the most significant knowledge gaps or data limitations in this area including those related to IAQ data, models and methods to estimate the impact. Based on the results of this project, the scope could be broadened in a future tender call to evaluate differences in the impact of climate change in IAQ in European regions with different climates and inequalities related to socioeconomic factors. Expected deliverables are a report, a non-technical summary, a policy brief, and a PowerPoint presentation. The maximum total budget available for the contract to be awarded is EUR 139,000 (excluding VAT). It is possible to express interest as an individual organisation or a consortium. However please note that invited candidates can submit a joint tender with other economic operators only if they have expressed interest in the planned procedure as a consortium.
