An exploratory study on the interplay between work-related and non-work-related risk factors of cardiovascular diseases: Implications for workplace prevention

The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA) is planning to launch a call for tender for the provision of an exploratory study on the interplay between work-related and non-work-related risk factors of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) and discussing implications in terms of workplace prevention. The main objectives of this project are: • To explore the complex interactions between work-related and non-work-related CVD risk factors, including lifestyle and behavioural factors, social and environmental determinants, health conditions and genetic factors, and how they influence the overall cardiovascular health of workers. • To discuss implications for the prevention and management of CVDs in the workplace, highlighting the role of workplace prevention and workplace health promotion in tackling CVD risks for a diverse workforce. • To identify limitations, gaps and needs in the current understanding of the issues discussed, recognizing areas where further research and policies are required • To develop key take-away messages for achieving inclusive and holistic CVD prevention strategies through collective action at the workplace level Expected deliverables are: • A final repository of the references included in the literature review in a BibTeX, XML, RIS or equivalent file format compatible with the IT tools used at the Contracting Authority, with complete and accurate bibliographic metadata • A research note describing the methodological approach, the information found, a preliminary analysis of the information found and how it will inform the report (see below). The length of the note should be around 6-7 pages or 3,000-3,500 words. • A final report for publication containing all the elements specified above, using a template supplied by the Contracting Authority. The length of the final report shall be between 30-35 pages or 15,000-17,500 words, excluding references and annexes. • An executive summary of the report that may be published as a stand-alone summary. The length of the summary should be maximum 4 pages or 3,000 words, excluding references. • A policy brief based on the report. The length of the policy brief should be maximum 8 pages or 6,000 words, excluding references. • A PowerPoint presentation (or equivalent alternative compatible with MS Office) of maximum 20 slides presenting the main elements of the report in a way that is accessible and relatable to a non-technical audience. The maximum total budget available for the contract to be awarded is EUR 40.000 (excluding VAT). It is possible to express interest as an individual organisation or a consortium. However please note that invited candidates can submit a joint tender with other economic operators only if they have expressed interest in the planned procedure as a consortium.
